Prof. Zerihun Ayenew Birbirsa is a senior Human Resource Management researcher at Jimma University, college of Business and Economics, and has been held positions such as: coordinator of Research and post graduate of college of Business and Economics, served as coordinator of continuing & distance education, head of department of management, students’ academic remedial program and actively participated in various committees such as: partnership and grant, research and ethical review board , curriculum revision , strategic planning and resource mobilization and management committee.
In addition to his teaching responsibility, he has been engaged in different research and community service activities. His researches focus on Human resource Management, leadership, strategic management, organizational Behavior and entrepreneurship.
Prof. Zerihun has published extensively more than 57 articles in reputable journals within the aforementioned fields and also had ample experience in reviewing manuscripts of various reputable national and international journals such as: Global Journal of Economics and Business(GJEB), Journal of Economics, Management and Trade, East African Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (Eajssh) and International Journal of Business and Management Currently, he serves as an associate Editor –in-chief of Horn of Africa Journal of business & Economics (HAJBE). In addition, he has attended various short term training programs, research conferences, and seminars in Ethiopia, India, and the Netherlands. Also he has been a visiting faculty guest at Arba Minch, Wallagga, Haramaya, Bule Hora, Metu, Welkitie and Ambo Universities, Ethiopia and Somaliland. He is also serving as Editor of Journal of Finance, management, and Development.
