Deresse Mersha Lakew (PhD) is currently an associate professor and coordinator for PhD in Public Financial Management at Ethiopian Civil Service University. Dr. Deresse obtained his Ph.D. in Commerce and Management studies (Specialization in Finance) from Adhara University, India in 2016. He obtained his masters of Commerce (Specialization in Accounting) from the same university in 2015. He has another Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Addis Ababa University obtained in 2009. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Accounting from Addis Ababa University in 2005. In addition, he has attended various short term training programs, research conferences and seminars within Ethiopia, India and the Netherlands. As an academic staff, he has been teaching Accounting and Finance courses both at graduate and undergraduate levels for more than 19 years. In addition to his teaching responsibility, he has been conducting various researches in the area of Accounting, Audting, Finance & Investment and published more than 30 research articles in national and international journals. He is currently serving as Managing editor to Journal of Finance, Management and Development (JFMD).
