Abstract

Editorial Note

I am delighted to mention that Journal of Urban Development Studies (JUDS) which was launched in the late 2020 under College of Urban Development and Engineering of the Ethiopian Civil Service university has published the first issue of Volume one in this year (May, 2021) online on time and the print issues were also brought out and dispatched within a month of publishing the issue online. The journal is aiming to publish up-to-date, high-quality and original research papers along with relevant and insightful reviews in the field of urban development. By the usual efforts of the editorial board members, members of advisory board, the vice president for the research and community service of the university (Dr. Alemayehu Debebe), and other academicians in the field, Volume I issue No. II is here published and made ready for the academic world. For this success, I express heartfelt appreciation to all authors and reviewers on behalf of the entire editorial board and the publisher.

When compared to the submissions on the previous issue, submissions of articles on the second volume shows significant increment and out of many submissions, only six articles were screened and published in this volume. I take this opportunity to acknowledge the contribution of the managing editor, Mr. Mekonnen Maschal (PhD candidate) for all the active endeavors in doing with the editors on one side and the authors on the other side. In addition to the online version (Online ISSN: 2788-8517), these articles are also accessible in printed format with Print ISSN: 2788-9963.

Again taking this opportunity, it is genuine to prompt the readers to submit any papers that you either individually or collaboratively and to make a substantial contribution to the early development and success of the journal. Best wishes and thank you in advance for your contribution. Let me conclude by quotation by Robin Sharma which reads as “Writing in a journal reminds you of your goals and of your learning in life. It offers a place where you can hold a deliberate, thoughtful conversation with yourself.”
